It is a known fact that education can lift people out of poverty that has been trapping their families for generations. We have established two schools in Andhra Pradesh where orphans and kids from very poor families can receive a good education. They are run by local people and costs are kept low. Every year, we also provide schoolbooks for thousands of kids living in the slums of Andhra Pradesh. Their families earn $1 a day or less and cannot afford to buy the necessary supplies so their kids can attend school. It costs less than $2 per child for books and this year we are hoping to supply 40,000-50,000 kids with books!
